The Dead Keep Count
A downloadable game for Windows
The keep repeats itself.
Each walk through its corridors feels familiar — stone, candlelight, iron, bone.
And yet, sometimes, something is wrong.
The Dead Keep Count is a short psychological horror game built around observation, memory, and judgment. There are no objectives on screen, no warnings, and no explanations. The rules are simple — but certainty is not.
The Rule
Walk the path.
At the end, make a choice.
-
If the world has changed, pull the lever and leave.
-
If nothing is different, offer a soul coin to the well.
Choose correctly, and your penance is counted.
Choose poorly, and the keep remembers.
What This Is
-
An anomaly-based horror experience
-
A looping environment that subtly changes
-
A slow, oppressive atmosphere inspired by cathedrals, crypts, and forgotten rites
-
A game about doubt, not reaction time
What This Is Not
-
No combat
-
No jump-scare reliance
-
No hand-holding
-
No explicit explanations
Progress is measured in Penance.
Reach twelve, and the cycle ends — one way or another.
Trust your eyes.
Question your memory.
Be certain.
Content Notes
This game contains dark religious imagery, skeletal remains, confinement themes, and psychological tension.
